Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six is a fantastic game of squad-level antiterrorist combat, and Prima's strategy guide is a fitting companion. This well-written book covers every aspect of gameplay, from basic tactics and premission planning to the final execution of each operation. Starting with a lengthy explanation of the game's basic movement and action controls (which are somewhat different from your typical first-person game), the book moves on to provide in-depth profiles of each Rainbow operative. You'll find out why Ding Chavez makes such a great team leader and why you should remember the name Kevin Sweeney when the need arises for a solo mission. Each of the game's weapons, including the indispensable H&K MP5SD5, is described in detail. The various special-purpose items, such as flashbangs and the heartbeat sensor, are also described so that you don't miss a key component of your inventory when you're planning for your next mission--and planning is of paramount importance throughout this game. The guide explains the value of training and roster selection as well as the crucial importance of mission planning and team deployment. If you can't figure out the best way to frag a room before entering or have trouble filling out your team roster with the appropriate personnel, this book can help. Of course, the book also provides complete walk-throughs for each of the game's 16 single-player missions. Hello Tom, I haven't actually read your strategy guid yet but I have a question (sorry for not reading it yet!)Um.. Im on mission six in Rainbow Six where you have to rescue the hostages. Well I can only find two, could you tell me where the others are? Thanx, Nolan

Great book,but i always thought that strategy guides takes away the fun from the game.Isn't that the whole reason you purchase a game,to beat it on your own,not with some help.strategy guides just take away the element of suprise,isn't that what u want?

...until you have purchased the Rainbow Six Strategy Guide. This guide has helpful info on missions, weapons, enemies and counterterrorism tactics. It is a must-have for any hardcore Rainbow Six gamer. This is the book you have been waiting for.

I think that this guide is the best that money can buy. I have it and it helped me when I was MAJORLY stuck. But I recommend it to only the people who look at a guide when they are MAJORLY stuck ,because where is that fun of actually playing the game if you go through word by word.
