 Pretty but hard to use!! July 28, 2010

I liked AC 1, and I still play it occasionally. I'm not a very serious gamer, but I do play a few games, Oblivion, Dragon Age Origins, ACI, Morrowind... I got AC2 because it looked lovely, and indeed it does. It's a visually spectacular game, and that is what I really enjoy most.
Unfortunately, I have a slightly flakey internet connection. It's not bad, and my son is quite happy with his X-Box live connection, but it's not perfect. I can only fix this by moving house. Ubisoft gets very upset with me on a regular basis, which for my money (60 euro or so) is not acceptable.
This is my very last Ubisoft game, unless they fix this nonsense.
DRM too steep for me July 18, 2010

I was watering at the mouth to get this after playing AC1. I /loved/ that game, but, perma-internet in order to play a game that is not a MMO, or multi-player just seems like they are catering to the wrong crowd.
I know, I know...how many millions of people play World of Warcraft, and have perma-internet...
I'd have to ask, does Ubi think those players are their player base? I believe they've miscalculated. The people that play games like ACII are the kind that don't play MMO's, or are far less likely to, or at the very least are the kind that have internet arrangements that won't allow them on as often as they'd like and are looking for gaming that they can play single player, offline on their own.
Well, to drive the point home, I have a PS3, and I still waited until the PC game came out. I refuse to get a PS3 version of this kind of game. I know it's controls are very console oriented, but, I play games like this on my PC. I am far more a PC gamer than a console gamer and even IF I were a console gamer, I am the "I hate being made to wait with a spiteful attitude of vengeance" sort of gamer that will refuse to buy a game on console platforms until the PC version is released. Further, I am the "I hate being called a thief" sort, and will refuse to buy a game until it's hacked, and I can play it without the DRM. I download the questionably modified versions in order to play without the CD, because I hate having to pull the CD out of it's case just to play the game I LEGALLY payed for the rights to use a copy thereof. I hate being told I have to have internet to play a game that SHOULDN'T require it even more. All in all, in the end, now that ACII is available for the PC, and a modified EXE file exists for me to play it without internet, I will go pay money for the game.
If you are planning on buying this game, plan on getting the crack unless you are a WoW player with high bandwidth perma-internet...This game requires no less than 50Kbps capability. That's just a hair under the FULL usage capacity of the fastest dial-up modem capability, just FYI.

The "permanent internet connection" requirement is an insult! I have never played an online game, only the single version. This requirement will cause me NEVER to buy anything you produce ever again in the future!

What a shame. Like everyone says. The DRM is stupid. I'd get the 360 version. Love this series.
They should remain this 'CAMERA-MAN CREED'. Half of your effort is controling camera angles. Actually make that 90% . July 11, 2010

The controls in the PC makes this game not playable. This game should be called Cameraman Creed. 90% of your gaming effort will be trying to control the camera angles. Because camera angles is unpredictably shifting during every single move you make, it makes the entire Prince of Persia type running around roof tops unplayable. The character will get attracted to any objects (eg edge of roofs, piles of hay, walls) if you do not align the character exactly. This might be ok except a LOT of levels require you to beat the time in running around roofs, ledges and climbing.
You have to control the camera angle CONSTANTLY because that's where the character will jump/walk/fall towards. Many levels will require you to beat a certain time climbing around. Trying to do that is simple IF the camera angle is not continuously moving irratically. I got a bad headache from motion sickness playing this game. Do not buy.
