Norton Save and Restore's Define Backup Wizard makes it easy to create a backup solution that works for your needs.

To maximize space and save time, Restore and Save makes incremental backups and also makes backups on the fly, without restarting your system. You can back up your data to almost any media, including CDR/RW and DVD+-R/RW drives, USB and FireWire (IEEE 1394) external storage devices, and Iomega Zip and Jaz drives.

A one-step setup wizard automatically creates an initial backup schedule based on your computer's storage devices and system settings, and the software then automatically monitors and optimizes backup disk space. You can also program it to trigger backups on key events, such as new program installations or user logins. And for added security, your backups are encrypted, giving you even more comfort knowing that your data is safe.

While Restore and Save builds on many of the same features found in Norton Ghost 10.0, there are several significant enhancements that make this a must-have application for anyone who cares about their data. For instance, a file and folder back up feature lets you choose specific files and folders to save, rather than having to save an entire drive. Restore and Save can also protects all files of a certain type (such as photos or documents) by finding and backing up the exact file types you indicate. The software also features a single easy-to-use interface, thanks to its integration with Norton Protection Center console, that makes managing your Norton security applications easier than ever. And lastly, and perhaps most importantly, an "Outbreak Alert" trigger automatically initiates a back up when Norton Internet Security 2006 is notified about a virus or worm outbreak.
