3 out of 5 stars Takes some getting used to.   September 5, 2008

I haven't found much worth upgrading for. It was difficult to find things with the new toolbars. I have used this product for over a year now and still can't find some things I want that I used to have readily available on the old tool bars. I think MS should have REAL PEOPLE test their products for ease of use rather than programmers or whatever they use. Wish they had help files that really helped.

5 out of 5 stars For a "non-power-user" it is worth upgrading from Office 2000 Professional   August 23, 2008
I decided to upgrade from Office 2000 Professional. As instructed I simply put the new CD in and the upgrade progressed and completed flawlessly.

At first the new "Ribbon" layout was very strange and intimidating. I was lost. I then went to the MS Office website and did the free Office 2007 tutorials. I am now able to use more features of the 2007 suite than what I could use of Office 2000 Professional. (They were probably there, but I was not aware of it) Therefore, my opinion as a non-expert user is that the new "Ribbon" layout is advantageous and easier. However, if I did not do the tutorials I would probably still have been sitting and clicking around aimlessly wishing I never upgraded from the old familiar 2000 version.

The only reason I upgraded to the "Small Business" version of the Office Suites was because it was unexplainably the cheapest. It has all the features of the "Standard" suite plus some more, but yet, costs less. It beats me.

5 out of 5 stars Lots of great features   August 8, 2008

I haven't had time to use most of the features in this upgrade but PowerPoint 2007 is beyond awesome. I'm a graphic designer and I am amazed at the variety of templates and themes, the smart art and great diagram features, the very cool tutorials and the ease with which even a beginner can create a stunning presentation. If you are not a beginer, then the sky is the limit.

All my contact information and emails from Outlook 2003 poppped up in Outlook 2007. Of course I wasn't sure this would happen so I wasted time saving them in a separate place.

Great upgrade - very good value for the money!

1 out of 5 stars UPGRADE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH VISTA   July 26, 2008

PRODUCT RETURNED! Amazon shipped this product in a secure plastic container, like the one used in retail stores. You risk damaging the software and injury to yourself when opening. A sign of things to come? This product is NOT compatible our new HP Laptop w/Vista,specifically, Outlook. After an hour of entering 10 business email addresses and downloading into Outlook, the software worked okay until next laptop reboot. Outlook data could not be accessed. Problem has to do with PST files. Google it. See the number of complaints and fixes that don't work. Waste hours searching to trying to resolve the issues. In addition, installing this software created numerous other Vista issues that we finally had to do a system recovery.

2 out of 5 stars Not my favorite program.   July 6, 2008

I tried the Beta version of Office 2007 and was unable to erase it and get my original Office 2003 to work. After much frustration with tech support, etc. I purchased the new super duper Office 2007.

I find it more cumbersome, less user friendly, and inferior to Office 2003 in almost every aspect. Even after one year of use, I am continually having to look up information in the "help" section to try to do simple tasks.

I am a writer and also own a translating company. I enjoyed the simplicity of 2003 and only have this program, because the Beta version of 2007 would not allow me to go back to 2003.
