x-cell-ent November 4, 2008 By far the best laptop mouse I've had the pleasure of using. By far the best technology. Kudos to Logitech!
Well Worth the Cost! November 2, 2008 I was very skeptical about this product before I purchased it. The performance of the nano sized receiver was by far my biggest concern, however after reading several reviews that found favor with this product and given Logitech's excellent track record, I decided to purchase it. WOW! I can't even imagine mousing without it! The nano sized receiver performs flawlessly and is virtually unnoticeable but the frictionless scroll wheel is what really sets this mouse apart from the competition. I will never, ever be able to use a mouse without a frictionless scroll wheel again. However if for some strange reason you enjoy scrolling at a slothful pace, with one downward click of the scroll wheel you can. My only complaint is that the forward and backward buttons are next to the left click button; placement of these buttons on the side of the mouse would be far more helpful. Note: If you have a desktop computer I'd go with the mx 1100, not the nano, unless you have really small hands.
THE BOTTOM LINE: BUY IT,YOU WON'T REGRET IT!
Be careful !! November 1, 2008 0 out of 7 found this review helpful
Be careful with this product !! I ended up buying 2 of them. Because you will not be able to scroll in the laptop with the receiver in the USB port. Lets say you are inside the aircraft and you want to use the laptop without the mouse. OR you are in a situation when a colleague or friend wants to scroll the pdf pages in your laptop in order to show you something. It is quite likely you will remove the receiver so that you can do your work in a limited space or make it easy for your colleague/friend to scroll the pages without the mice. If you remove the receiver the chances of losing it is VERY HIGH. Now if you are always on high alert and cautious to the nth degree, thats different. But lets be practical. I lost 2 receivers. Both the time in places outside work / home. The "nano" is the problem. The reciever is tiny and hence difficult to locate. Sometimes you end up keeping in your pocket or in your bag , you forget for a day or two or just for the moment and thats it.. I think logitech should really and seriously think how the receiver, the mouse can remain tied to the laptop and hence reduce the chances of losing either of them. In my quest for using the nano mouse, I ended up buying nearly 200 USD worth of mouse (3 mouse in total out of which 2 were replacement). The 3rd one of course was not a Nano. I switched.
A great portable mouse! November 1, 2008 After reading some of the earlier reviews about problems using the vx nano with a Mac I was a bit apprehensive about buying it. After having used it for a few weeks now I can comfortably say that this is one of the best portable mice I've ever used. I work on my laptop every single day in many different locations and using this mouse is way better to the wrists for me then using the trackpad continuously.
The driver software on the included CD works like a charm on the Mac and I'd highly recommend installing it since it gives much better control over the mouse movement and wheel behavior than the normal mouse preference pane. The scroll-wheel allows me to scream through large documents and has both a smooth scroll and a more ridged tactile feedback while scrolling, activated by pressing the wheel down till it clicks.
I've had absolutely no mouse related crashes or misbehaving drivers as reported in some of the earlier reviews.
The only minor niggle I have are the the up/down buttons right next to the left mouse button. They're a little small and loose enough in their housing that my index finger gets caught on the top edge of the down button and pulls it quite high up out of the mouse. Nothing breaks, but it just looks and feels awkward.
not really worth it October 31, 2008 a lot of gloss and shine. not what i expected out of it. the two buttons for forward and back near the left click button are too small to be of any practical use. the low profile of this mouse is also a bit hard to get used to. these two reasons are the biggest dissapointment for me.
it is as good as any other laser mouse and i would suggest you choose a basic notebook mouse next time. preferably the new microsoft blue.. that works on almost any surface. the features are not worth the price.
