Product Description You will brave searing desert and icy plains. You will have to seek answers among the living and the dead. You must confront the mightiest of the Revenants - the demonic Skorn - in his citadel of Galdon Thor and there drag him and his kin from the world of man. You must succeed where Harbinger did not.
Amazon.com Product Description Thousand of years ago, six demon kings, known as the Revenants, ruled the world with an iron fist and bloody swords. Their powers let them claim the bodies of mortal vassals and live in the realms of man forever. The great hero and warlock Harbinger was the only one who could stand up to their power. One by one he hunted the Revenants, taking their souls and casting them into the Well of Souls. But the Revenants survived... As a young man you will travel to meet your uncle in the town of Madrigal. Here, your destiny draws you into the path that Harbinger trod--to confront the Revenants and banish their souls back to the well forever. Your travel will take you far from Madrigal--to the ruined kingdoms of Horath and the ancient empire of Thardolin and through the lost city of Talendrah. You will brave searing desert and icy plains. You will have to seek answers among the living and the dead. You must confront the mightiest of the Revenants--the demonic Skorn--in his citadel of Galdon Thor, and drag him and his kin from the world of man. You must succeed where Harbinger did not. You must become the Soulbringer.

so bad, i threw it away, almost unplayable, no direction March 11, 2006 2 out of 8 found this review helpful
little fun, cheesy graphics. The beginning gets you excited, the music is nice, ok, but it seems repetitive, the orc monsters unimaginative, and you just walk quickly down roads in the snow hoping to find an apple before you starve, which happens all-to-soon. Boring. Most of the time you just try to figure out what to do, what you can do, which is not much, or you wish you would be told what you should do. Save your cash. I put mine in the trash. Apparently, at the beginning, you have to pay the ferryman when given a choice. I figured out that much. Very disapponting.
Nice Atmosphere July 10, 2004 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I liked this game alot, it reminds me of Drakkan if anyone remembers that game which was not top winner. Theres just something about the atmosphere which is like a Christmas and Halloween night feel that makes the game pleasant even in the middle of a bloodthirsty battle which the game is night all the time. The same experience I got from Drakkan when it turned night time. I do see this game not being a favorite among die hard RPG fans like the control of your character but its basically point and click just alittle time to get used to, not really Rocket Science here and the graphics are alittle fuzzy at times when your searching for items but its just one of those games you can site back and relaxe to while playing. I think its a fun game, good storyline, great atmosphere, alright control play being not the best but certainly not the worst and the graphics aren't top notch but not the worst either. Theres rarely some RPG games that can give a fun relaxed feeling to them without over embelishment of graphics and shear intensity on fighting and hack & slash. I'd also like to suggest Planescape: Torment that also gives an emphasis on fun but I have to say its a much better game than this one and is top notch in my opinion.
Could Have Been Really Awesome October 27, 2003 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
If Troika had their hands on this. It could have been freakin sweet. But they didn't and this is what we are left with:The story line is decent although very linear. This seems to be a more of a hack and slash style than actually story based. The grapics are decent and the spells and attacks are all very well done (that and the excellent combos you can make are top notch). The combat is pretty difficult and akward and pretty insane at the beginng and pretty much throughout. I haven't made it all the way through out of disgust at dying so quickly and having to reload many times in a 10 minute period. Plus having to load at each new building, town, everything is really annoying especially with how much you can install to your HD. If you want an action driven RPG I would recomend looking towards Dungeon Siege or Diablo 2. But this is still just an ok game.
A pleasant surprise March 22, 2003 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
Soulbringer is the best RPG I have played in a long time. I found myself inventing reasons to find time to play it. Who needs to eat or sleep anyway? The game is not perfect but that is some of its charm - thinking what could have been is part of the fun. The story is great, the music wonderful. The interface was different and took me some time to master. Soulbringer has unseated Arena as the best RPG I have ever played. I have also played it a second time, something that I have only ever done with Arena, Myst, and XCom. I consider Soulbringer to be one of the masterworks of computer RPG gaming. I hope that there is a Soulbringer 2.
Not as bad as a 1...not as good as a 5 February 28, 2001 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This game was ok...if a game really sucks I tend to not make it through it...anyway, once you get a hang of the engine, it's really not bad. Lot's of interesting quests and items. Not much online help, though...It's also night all the time (with no explanation) and that is a bit annoying, plus you need to read the online sites that ARE available because there are a couple of bugs that'll getcha...other than that I liked it.
